Things to ask...Wife addition
This is going to be a little different than the others with the kids. I have changed the questions just a bit to relate to Angie and I. I know I will not make it through this one without an optic allergic reaction. Not that I made it through any of the others without that happening either.
In 2002 I married the most wonderful, caring, and forgiving person that I have ever met. Shortly after we were married I started my EMS career, for 20 years I worked 2 full-time jobs and Angie balanced everything at home virtually by herself. No words I could ever say or write could show my appreciation for all she has done and been through.
1. What is your favorite memory of us?
There isn't one specific time, but it is a similar event. I love it when we go on trips together. It is so cool how you plan everything out, print out everything that you want to do, and directions. When you are awake(lol) you like to see things and we always do the coolest things.
2. What were the first few days of marriage like?
This may sound weird, but it was kind of scary. We were blending families and I was worried about that. The best part is that we all got along and the kids did great together. Life wasn't always perfect but we got by and we all had a good time together.
3. What have you learned about love, and what has it taught you?
Love waits. You have waited for 20 years for me to be a husband. I have always been gone and you have done virtually everything in the house. Now that I have just one job and have a good amount of free time, I am happy to be doing more around the house. I love sitting there with you while you cook, and I love to clean up after we're done. It is the highlight of my day when we sit out on the porch with our coffee and watch the critters in the yard. I just really like spending time with you and talking with you.
4. When was a moment you felt most proud of me?
This is easy. You have worked hard at several different places and have been overlooked and underpaid. You moved around a bit and stuck it out to see if it would get better. But on a leap of faith, you started something new, and look at you now. You work for a great company and they definitely see your worth and pay you accordingly. I am so happy that you like what you do and that you are making such a good wage.
5. If you could do us all over again, including the kids, what would you do differently?
Another easy one. I would spend more time at home, and I wouldn't say no to going places. I definitely wouldn't balk at taking time off from work. I would spend more time with the kids and spend time teaching them things that would be beneficial to them later in life.
6. What was the nicest thing I have done for you?
This is not as easy to answer. I would have to say that the fact that you have stayed with me after all the things that we have been through is top on the list. You have spent so much time alone, you have had to deal with so many issues on your own. You never complain, you never tell me no and you strive to make everyone happy.
7. What is one thing I want you to always remember after I am gone?
I want you to know that you are appreciated. I see everything that you do, I don't always say anything but I see it. You need to know that if I wasn't gone I was always going to be there for you. I would be there to take care of you, to help you, and keep you safe.
There has been so much time lost over the years and I truly hope that we can make up for some of them. I promise that I will really try not to say no when you ask me to go somewhere. I will do my best to make your life easier around the house, more than what I am already doing. You are the love of my life, I want you to be happy and I want to be happy with you. I love you.
This makes me speechless, I love you so much and look forward to the best years of our lives!! ❤
